I am Zsolt Barina, a software architect and IT consultant. For more than two decades, I have worked on business-critical enterprise systems, from requirements analysis through design to implementation.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION
Through a company assessment process, I achieved Expert Architect status, the highest level on that technical career path. My application demonstrated my design, implementation and technical leadership responsibilities in a complex modernization project.
SELECTED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
I lived and worked in Austria for seven years, first as a lead developer and then as an architect. I played a key role in developing and migrating the electronic customs system. My experience also includes Hungarian and German enterprise and telecommunications environments. I work in both German and English on technical matters.

View referencesIn German healthcare, I contributed to developing and modernizing applications for digital administration and data exchange. My responsibilities included requirements analysis, technical design and development.
As an architect, I contributed to technology modernization of multi-module Java systems and cloud migration of applications. I also work on healthcare document management and approval workflows in a Java environment.
I gained experience in projects for several leading German automotive companies, in various professional and subcontracting roles. My work ranged from production planning and manufacturing support applications to developing and modernizing intercompany vehicle sales systems.
As an architect and consultant, I contributed to analysis, design, estimation and implementation. I supported handover through technical documentation, transfer of development processes and preparation of colleagues.
I held lead development and consulting responsibilities in a public administration environment of interconnected applications. Modernization had to be planned alongside daily operations and parallel business development.
My work included Java and application server migration, integrations, performance analysis and improvements to build, test and release processes. Alongside technical design, I scheduled and coordinated tasks, mentored developers and worked with business, testing and operations stakeholders.
As architect and lead developer, I was responsible for the backend architecture of a new cloud/edge platform. The task involved designing and building a multi-tenant microservice environment.
I worked on service boundaries, APIs, event-driven communication and access management. My involvement spanned client discussions, detailed requirements and implementation in containerized and Kubernetes environments.
Earlier in my career, I worked on supplier ordering and forecasting processes, JIT production support, warehouse and invoice processing applications. I also contributed to automotive B2B sales systems.
I built data connections and synchronization, replaced paper-based processes and worked on automated pricing and reporting. This gave me practical experience of how changes to an interface or business rule affect production, logistics and accounting.
ARCHITECTURE AND TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP
Enterprise and microservice architectures
I design and develop architectures for Java and Spring Boot systems. I define component responsibilities, their connections and the technical direction of modernization.
System connections and event-driven operation
I design APIs, data connections and messaging workflows using REST, SOAP, Kafka and RabbitMQ. I consider error handling, authentication and permissions across the whole system.
Lead developer decisions
I also make decisions on implementation direction, code quality and development, testing and release processes. I work with Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab and Jenkins.
AI-assisted design and implementation
I also use AI agents in technical work. Professional verification of results and architectural decisions remain my responsibility. For client work, we agree tool use and data handling in advance.
